UK Virtual Fitness Programs Surge in Q4 2020

As the year 2020 drew to a close, the virtual fitness sector witnessed a notable increase in user activity within the United Kingdom. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers an insight into the performance of the top virtual fitness applications. Here, we delve into the numbers for the fourth quarter.

Fitbit: Health & Fitness saw its revenue peak at $171K in the week of December 21st, following a generally upward trend from $138K at the start of the quarter. Downloads spiked dramatically to 167K in the week of December 21st, while weekly active users reached a high of 1.1M in the final week of December.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike also experienced revenue growth, with a notable increase to $188K in the week leading up to Christmas. The app's downloads hit a peak of 63K in the last week of December, whereas weekly active users saw a significant rise to 1.3M during the same period.

For VeryFitPro, which does not report revenue, downloads showed an impressive leap to 102K in the week of December 21st. The app's weekly active users also grew, reaching a quarter of a million by the end of December.

Fitness Coach - Workout Plan generated revenues that fluctuated throughout the quarter, eventually tapering off to $19K in the final week. The app experienced a surge in downloads, with over 31K in the week of October 12th, and active users reached a peak of 37K in the same week.

Lastly, NHS Couch to 5K, which also does not report revenue, saw downloads soar to 51K in the last week of 2020. The app's weekly active users exhibited significant growth, concluding the quarter with 288K active users.
